  16. This is the wwwcounter 2.4 by Muhammad A. Muquit. It is compiled
  17. by Bert Vortman.This distribution is compiled with the 
  18. Ixemul.library v47.2 and comes with the binary distribution of
  19. apache_1.3b3.

  21. INSTALLING
  22. ==========

  24. Installation is easy if you have the basic GeekGadgets installed 
  25. (which you should have anyway to run Apache :-).
  26.  
  27. * first, cd to the apache:wwwcount2.4 directory
  28. * type sh Gen-conf
  29.   some questions are asked about your server, don't mess with the /apache/..
  30.   directory questions, leave it as it is (unless you now what you do 8-) )
  31. * type sh Count-install
  32.   answer the question about the user & group the httpd uses, answer
  33.   it with the user&group of apache in decimal form:

  35.     1001 as user, 45 as group. 
  36.  
  37. * after this everything will be installed correctly.

  42. MKSTRIP, make your own Counter digits!
  43. --------------------------------------

  45. With MKSTRIP you can make your own digits out of separated gif digit 
  46. images. Or use it to convince a webmaster of a counter site to use 
  47. it for you :) An example of a created digit style is added in the 
  48. Digits/F directory. Mkstrip is in the Counter/utils directory.
